The Australian Southern Bluefin Tuna Industry Association (ASBTIA) represents the Australian SBT industry. ASBTIA pioneered global tuna farming in 1991 and works to maintain a high level of quality and performance. The industry has developed through a large investment in innovation, research and training, with a philosophy of continuous improvement and full traceability.

 

Australian Longline Fishing Pty Ltd

Australian Longline Fishing, an innovative deep-water fishing company based in Hobart, owns two longline vessels targeting Antarctic and Patagonian Toothfish in the Antarctic and Subantarctic waters. Australian Longline take an innovative approach to sustainability with continuous improvement a major focus. We have developed unique environmentally friendly technologies on our vessels which go above and beyond industry standards. As our name suggests, we are committed to longline fishing which is superior in its fishing technique for supporting sustainable fisheries and quality seafood. Our company’s collective experience, leadership and presence in the fishery, makes us a pioneer in the commitment to a sustainable future for the health and wellbeing of our people, the fishery and the environment.

Southern Shark Industry Alliance

The Southern Shark Industry Alliance (SSIA) represents the interests of members who hold quota in Australia’s Southern and Eastern Scalefish and Shark Fishery. The SSIA aims to support the sustainable commercial development of the shark fishery through assisting members in their interactions with Government, regulators, scientists, stakeholders and the community.

Tuna Australia

Tuna Australia represents food producers of the Eastern and Western tuna and billfish fisheries of Australia. Our goals are to ensure sustainable ecological development of the industry, enhance market opportunities, and improve safety and workforce development. Research is a major focus of Tuna Australia inspiring innovation and a continual improvement process.

Great Australian Bight Industry Association

GABIA is committed to ecological and economic sustainability of the Great Australian Bight Trawl Fishery (GABTF).  GABIA works closely with stakeholders to shape a sustainable future and controlled development of the GABTF.  Our vision is: “A sustainably managed and profitable demersal and midwater trawl fishery, built through a co-management approach with all stakeholders to supply high quality fresh and frozen product to domestic and overseas markets.

Sydney Fish Market Pty Ltd

Sydney Fish Market Pty Ltd is owned equally by the harvest and post-harvest sectors of the NSW seafood industry – the Catchers Trust of NSW and the Sydney Fish Market Tenants and Merchants Pty Ltd. Sydney Fish Market operates a wholesale auction and working fish market, hosting six seafood retailers offering Australia’s biggest variety of fresh seafood. It is the largest market of its kind in the southern hemisphere, trading over 100 different species of seafood each day. More than just a location that trades seafood, the site has become a leading tourism destination, showcasing the best in Australian produce to food lovers and seafood enthusiasts from across Australia and around the world.

NPF Industry Pty Ltd

The NPF Industry Pty Ltd is a collective of trawler operators, processors and marketers acting together as a single voice for the industry in the Northern Prawn Fishery, which spans the pristine waters from Cape York to the Kimberleys. The company was formed in 2007 to represent the interests of NPF operators and to promote the on-going sustainable development of the fishery. NPF Industry Pty Ltd works closely with government, scientists and regulators to ensure the wild areas of the Northern Prawn Fishery are responsibly and sustainably managed. NPF Industry has been a willing partner and leader of many significant initiatives to improve prawn stocks, reduce by-catch and foster research to improve the overall sustainability of the NPF.

 

South East Trawl Fishery Industry Association (SETFIA)

The South East Trawl Fishing Industry Association (SETFIA) represents businesses with a commercial interest in the South East Trawl Fishery and the East Coast Deepwater Trawl Sector. SETFIA is predominately a supply-based organisation but has many marketing members. The Association’s strategy is to maximise membership, build a common culture of environmental stewardship and self-management and improve on-the-water practices. It is hoped that communication of this stewardship to stakeholders brings about lower cost and improved management arrangements.

Austral Fisheries

Austral Fisheries is one of Australia’s largest integrated commercial fishing companies with interests in both deep-sea fishing and at sea prawning.  We are proud to be recognised for our responsible fishing practices and continuous efforts in maintaining our environmentally friendly and sustainable methods that sees all four of the Australian fisheries we operate in as being independently certified as sustainable and well managed by the Marine Stewardship Council, as well as the company being certified as carbon neutral under the Australian Government Carbon Neutral Program.
